Kathal and Zeltweg sites at a glance
Kathal is the historic parent plant and the heart of raw timber processing. This is where the round timber sorting plant, the sawmill with a cutting capacity of around 400,000 cubic meters and two planing mills are located. Pabst is currently investing €40 million in the complete modernisation of this site.
Zeltweg has been the company headquarters since 2003. Around 100,000 m³ of glulam are produced here every year and bound using CNC technology. The production facilities for pellets (120,000 tons) and AlpenSpan horse bedding are also located here.
The sites complement each other: Kathal supplies dried sawn timber as the basis for further processing in Zeltweg. Sawdust from the Kathal sawmill serves as raw material for pellet production in Zeltweg.
